Do Catahoulas Like Children?

By Michelle | June 2, 2009

It is Riley the Catahoula here. What? Did you just ask me if Catahoulas like children?  That is easy to answer.  It is really simple:  Do Catahoulas love to eat?  Do Catahoulas love to smell?  Well, then, OF COURSE we like little children because they let us eat and smell them!  They are lovely!   Here is a photo essay explaining exactly why Catahoulas are good with children (as are many other types of my fury friends!).  This photo essay was taken at my FAVORITE store in the whole world (located in Atlanta) called Intown Healthy Hound.  I think it is easy to see why I love the place… Continue reading Do Catahoulas Like Children?

Weee’re Back!

By Michelle | May 20, 2009

Riley and I have not been blogging for a while. There is a very good reason for our absence.  I have been working very hard lately--but I am finally finished.  We are happy to be back and we will be blogging more regularly now. To celebrate we took a trip to North Carolina. P5190361 Riley's Thoughts: My mom is finally done with her working on the computer and what some call "writing."  I call it a pain in the tail.  I have not been able to work on my own blog for some time now.  My blog is very important to me, but she did not listen.  Luckily, her work is done now so I can concentrate on my work. Some people said my mom… Continue reading Weee're Back!

Riley the Spokesmodel

By Michelle | April 23, 2009

Riley has become the face of Classic Hound.com, one of our favorite online stores for collars, bedding, and all things (hound) chic! Our Riley will be featured at least for the rest of the month... so go check her out! In case you're wondering how life has changed around here since the announcement, she's still the down-to-earth doggy (diva) she was before being recognized for her divine looks.  With the $20 prize, I think we'll  get another Classic Hound collar for our pup's hard modeling work.  After all, it's not easy being as beautiful as Riley-Poo ;) Oh...and be sure to submit your pooch's best photo for consideration in future Classic Hound contests!

Cha Cha misses Doglirious!

By Carla | April 20, 2009

Blame her Mommy and this new job of hers! Major update! Cha Cha just celebrated her first birthday! YAAAAAY!! That's right, my little one is no longer a puppy. Does she know the difference? No, not really. She knows that her mommy came home with some presents one day and doesn't quite know why. She knows her mommy kept making a fuss over her for no apparent reason. And soon enough, she'll know that these things precede getting sharp needles poked into her back. Yep, it's time for her annual shots. We're still experiencing some potty accidents, mostly while I'm at work. She makes a good effort to go on the pad, it just tends to..um..overflow onto the tile.  I believe she'll get it down to a science soon enough. Sorry for the quick… Continue reading Cha Cha misses Doglirious!

A “Quality” Walk — how do you know?

By Carla | March 10, 2009

Daily exercise is such an important part of Cha Cha's routine, as it is with all our pooches. As dog guru Cesar Milan reminds us in every episode of "Dog Whisperer", a dog's life should consist of "exercise, discipline and affection". Okay, so how do you know when the doggie is getting ENOUGH exercise? Let's keep in mind that my little one weighs all of 7 pounds. Cha Cha and I have fallen into a pretty regular walking routine; 15 minute walk in the morning for elimination purposes (and she is actually making it through the entire night now, so she's allowed back into the bedroom!). When I get home from work, we take a longer 20-25 minute walk around my community for elimination and exercise, then frequent potty breaks at… Continue reading A "Quality" Walk -- how do you know?
