Question by danakay91: Why are Dog hybrids/Designer Breeds Such a tender topic on Yahoo?
I notice I get alot of negativity on here when I ask a question about my labradoodle Why is this? I Didn’t pay for my dog, I got her off an owner who was at the brink of putting her into a shelter due to her destructive behaviour. Why do people on here make me think what I did was wrong? I rehomed an older dog with behavioural problems and have gave her a permanant loving home regardless of what breed she is. Can’t I openly say I own a labradoodle without being hauled abuse.
Why are people so quick to judge on here?
A labradoodle is just another name for a poodle/lab mix, so what is wrong with calling her a labradoodle, You all know what mix I am onabout when referring to a Labradoodle so I don’t see the problem. Does it matter what I call my dog, I’m not stating she is a pedigree, I clearly know she is not, & if anyone asked what dog she was I would reply she is a Labradoodle which means she is a labrador x poodle, what’s the big deal?
Sorry Belles but I have to say you have jumped the gun abit, I didn’t state “hybrid” alone I stated “dog Hybrid” which has the same definition of a cross breed dog”

People aren’t against the dogs themselves, just the irresponsible back yard breeders that “create designer” breeds. A labradoodle isn’t a dog, it’s a labrador poodle mix. And I don’t think people would think you did anything wrong because you saved your dog! Kudos to you, I just hope you never buy from a back yard breeder in the future and I hope those people go out of business. There shouldn’t be irresponsible breeders when 6 million pets are put to sleep every year in shelters.
